so just wanted to document what it looks like so i have it on file. what do you guys think? with some fresh cut flowers and some tulle, i think it won't be too hard to make this place look nice... it already does anyway.

i decided to make the journal public and as for exterme details like where things are.... that will be protected. so make sure you guys check both!
i'm looking for easy centerpieces and pew decorations. meli sent me wonderful silver bucket flower holders a la martha stewart!
going to look at stationary stores with jonathan on thursday. meli's coming along too of course
not in a hurry with invitations but i should start looking so that we can budget it and if it's really complicated to diy then we'll have plenty of time!
yayyyyy
Monday - appointment w/Photographer/Videographer/Dj in Astoria 7pm on monday.
I believe those are the two most important things we need to get done right away. We got the place for ceremony and reception already. Now we need the photographer/videographer for sure... and we're going to see the DJ packages and might be able to work with them on a good package for us. If not, we'll stick with the ibook-music.
I'm also thinking about going to see a florist to get estimates and then finding some pictures of cakes that we both like.
Things are moving along and it's super official now that we have a place. It's exciting and unbelievable at the same time. SUUUUUUPPPPPER happy.
ps: happy birthday to dave (again)!! may your wishes come trueeeeee
hello! wilbur, meli and i went to a food tasting yesterday at the place we're probably going to book. the food was not too bad, we ate a buffet style dinner. we thought that we would only have a taste of all the food so we weren't expecting a full out buffet!
the carving station was excellent. the ham was gooooood. the cake was dry and the flavor wasn't too good... the syrup type thing they used was way to sweet. i don't know if it's just me or what but maybe it's just because i don't like cake?
we ate in the ball room which is the room that we would choose if we book this place. it's big and beautiful.... i was drooling at how pretty the place was!
afterwards we went into the hall right next to the ball room for a DJ/MC presentation and at first i thought it was cheesey. but when are weddings NOT cheesey? but later through the night they were doing conga-lines and passing out lais. i liked it.. haha except for the fact that i already had a headache so we left a little bit afterwards.
so i came to the conclusion that i'll chill out with being overly occupied with wedding details. i read his xanga the other day and realized that having the perfect wedding is not important.... even if things don't fall into place and don't go as the way i planned it, it's ok. i too rather have a perfect marriage than a perfect wedding. i just want to have a good time with friends and family.... to celebrate the combining of our families and the start of our life together!
i do have to admit - we're truly blessed to have the relationship that we have together. we don't fight, we don't get mad at each other... we don't stress each other out. sure, we don't agree on everything but sometimes we agree to disagree. i know that wilbur will always be there for me and i for him.... and that is more perfect than any perfect wedding.
FOR WEDDING PARTY ONLY
if you are sami, eric, angela, josiah, meli, jonathan, veronica, jwo, davex, angie, inyoung, roger.... then you're allowed.
but i decided that this information is only for them and the weddingbee.com folks.
sorrrrry but i want an element of surprise for those that will be there!
so those in the wedding party that aren't part of the protected
list.... please leave a comment and subscribe so that i can add you
guys!
-----
and those in our wedding party: we would both appreciate if you kept the information that we share between us! thank you
oh yeah, we did it! diy programs!!!
i have the template all done and when it gets closer to the wedding
date i just need to buy some really pretty paper.... some beautiful
ribbons and possibly a cute punch stamp thingamajig. but otherwise it
looks awesome.
roger gave the thumbs up on it so it's good to go!!!! (again like the taco bell commercial!)
wilbur and i both agreed that the following will be DIY:
invitations
save the dates (DONE)
flowers (yes everything!)
any decoration in the chapel... (that is if it's in a church)
so i'm pretty happy. i already have a lot of things done. just need to
figure out some money stuff cuz it turns out that it is still quite
expensive even though we're saving a lot by doing things ourselves. we
wanted to get married in two years but thought that we could do it next
year.... we thought it cut our budget in half finding these wonderful
places... but in reality it's only a couple thousand cheaper. so haha
we're really on the same budget if it were two years away!!!
but. we can do it! and especially with the help of our wedding party we got it down pat.
g'nite
hi my name is annie and i hate kate's paperie.
just kidding, i really don't. the upper east side group are just snobby and too good for me i guess. bleck.
luckily
jonathan is helping me with invitations and i just might be able to get
those beautiful pocket fold invites. but if not - i won't cry.
i
got a bunch of sample invites in the mail today - they look nice but
not exactly what i had hoped for... i got some samples from kate's
too... papyrus had NOTHING. but the other things they had was quite
lovely
i have a exam tomorrow. i should stop looking at invites and study.
hellllloooo, not too many people even know about this site but i thought for the random viewers i would write anyway.
i need some suggestions for reception/dancing music for the wedding....
i
need the artist, name of the song and i'm going to try to find it. then
i can start adding the songs to my playlist! oy... i hope i don't
regret not getting a dj....
invitations: mrs rose from
weddingbee.com has given me a TON of links for DIY invitations so it's
looking promising! thanks girl!!
i'm going to kate's paperie today
with a art student friend of mine just to see how much things cost and
if i should just DIY from total scratch. is it tacky to print from a
home printer?
this past saturday meli and i went to try on
dresses. as far as i know we have it figured out and whenever i
purchase the gown - you girls will get $20 off of the dress. but i'll
send a email directly to yous to let you know when you can get it!
that is all! for now...
why are pocket fold invitations so expensive? i guess the assembly and
embellishments are expensive and the kind of paper i want is super
duper expensive. boooooo
i have a friend who owns a
stationary/invitations company and she said she can give me a huge
discount. i gave her the pictures of the ones i like and hopefully they
are afforadable!!!!!!!!!
AHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
next task: food tasting and wednesday and then hopefully booking the place
florist on thursday
getting samples of invitations
starting a playlist for the wedding......
first of all can i say how much of fun and how stressed it has been
trying to look for affordable invitations? bleck, the ones that are
cheap aren't cute (diy ones) and the ones that are cute are just as
expensive as the letterpressed ones. so i'm going to have to put on my
thinking cap on and get the creative juices flowing....
paper-source.com seems to be a good DIY invitation place... so maybe
i'll try them. i already got some templates from websites for different
invitations... so i'll have a test run of that and see how it goes.
but
the good news is i found a place to rent the speakers for our "DJ".
hehe which is our wedding party! www.meetingtomorrow.com has a small
group PA package for $185. it includes 2 powered speakers on stands, a
wired mic (or for $20 extra cordless); and a round trip deliver/pickup
charge for $75. not bad at all!! i'll just hook it up to my ibook and
let the music flowwwww. i read a lot of couples are doing this versus
hiring a dj, not only is it cost friendly but it's interactive with
people you care about!
that's all the updating until i find more to write about.
ps:
saw angela today and she told me i should check out where she got her
dress from in taiwan. we'll see if it is cheaper than getting it here.
