Mr. Poppy and I have tried to keep our wedding as simple as possible. For the longest time I convinced myself that I actually don't need pew decorations especially since our ceremony was only 30 minutes long. But then at the last minutes I thought we might regret it and I asked one of my bridesmaids and one of our groomsmen over to help me make tissue paper pom poms (via Martha Stewart) that are used all the time now.
We used the directions that are given on the website but we made sure it wouldn't be bigger than our pews. Instead of using flower wire to hold it together we used ribbons so we could tie it around the pew. The only regret that I have is that I wished I used the left over ribbons to hang from the bottom of the pom pom. It would have added a little oomph and perhaps made it look a little fancier. *shrugs* Maybe not. But it is a good idea for those of you who want pew decorations that aren't expensive.

What pew decorations have you decided on for you ceremony? I'd love to hear about it especially since I have a lot of friends who are getting married in the near future and I'm collecting ideas to present to them. I think I'll even show the girls my crappy photoshop to show what I could have done.... but didn't. Maybe they will want it at their wedding.
