I'm back... almost!
Mr. Poppy and I have moved to New Jersey and we're literally a 7min drive to Port Authority. It's super nice and we have a nice big LCD tv. Let me tell you, TV is not TV until you have a HDTV. Holy camoly.
After unpacking and arranging furniture and all that jazz I've lost a good 10lbs. I don't know where it went since my body looks exactly the same to me. I tried on my wedding dress again and I'm freaking out. I have a strapless dress and when I put it on again: I CAN SEE MY FEET!!! Did that make sense? The boob area is too large now and i can see my stomach and my feet. Before the boob area was too tight. I was pretty proud of my twins before but now I'm concerned.
I went to a bunch of alteration places/dry cleaners around my area and asked if they could help me by altering it. They all said no, they told me to buy another dress!!! ACK!!!! What am I to do? I bought my dress from David's in Boston a long while ago. Does anyone know if they exchange for a different size despite how long ago I bought the dress? If they don't I might have to sell it and rebuy it. I want to go to the city and get alterations there but the problem is that I don't have a car. *DOH*
I was telling Miss Kiwi (Who I think is a complete cutie-pathootie) that I feel so unprepared for the wedding. Watch me walk down and my dress just falls to my ankles. YIKES. Even though I feel like there is more I have to do for the wedding... even if it doesn't go perfectly I'm just happy to spend the day with people I love... especially Mr. Poppy.
But you can't blame a girl wanting her dress to NOT fall off her body. hehe
PS: I know 10lbs sounds like a LOT. But I'm still plump.

Oh no! Dress too big is not a good thing to do.
I'll come right over w/ some full-fat muffins and we'll get that dress to fit again!
I wish I could lose 10 pounds when I move! haha! J/K. From what few pics I saw of you, I don't see how you could have possibly lost 10 pounds and still be "plump". You weren't plump to begin with. You are gorgeous!
Oh, and I think David's will exchange as long as you have the receipt, and the dress is still a "current" style of theirs; meaning that it is still guarenteed to be ordered for other customers. At least that's what someone told me. You'll have to let us know if it all works out!
If you can't exchange it, let me know. My mom is a tailor and she altered my cousin's wedding dress. She said that at even at her dry cleaners, she will turn down alterations on wedding gowns because brides tend to be...picky (I'll stay PG
). So that's what may have happened with you. But when people bring in wedding gowns that need be be cleaned/stored in a acid-free box after a wedding, she's forever fixing rips and tears.
Lucky girl, losing 10 lbs without trying...
i LOVE your new home~!!! Thanks for inviting us!!!
I can't believe that NO ONE can take the dress in for you? I just bought my dress and will need to get it altered, so please don't tell me that no one can do alterations to a wedding dress!!!
ryc: Haha you crack me up! Yeah, I do write on Weddingbee. And so do you!
hehehe
We need t-shirts. Yep.
Omg don't even fuel my infatuation with NY right now...even before weddingbee (about since Sex and the City, actually
) I've been obsessed with it.
We really do need the shirts, though!
