Officiant and Flower girl
Both Mr. Poppy and I are so blessed to have our officiant be one of our friends. He's actually in ministry school but still works for the same company as my fiance. We knew from the very start that we would ask him first since he has been such a encouragement and a great friend.
Then a couple Sundays ago I saw him and his daughter. She is the most beautiful girl I have ever seen. Blonde hair, blue eyes and soft curls. She looks like an angel and I couldn't resist and asked our officant if she'd be our flower girl. And they both agreed and said they are very excited.
We were thinking about this dress. It matches the sash I have in my dress and I figured that I would have her wear latte or champagne. Latte would match the bridesmaids and champagne would match my dress.
I'm having my flower girl walk down with one of my groomsmen since one of my bridesmaids is actually playing the piano during the ceremony. Hopefully I can find someone to play the last piece so that the GM and BM and my officiant and his daughter can walk out together. I am pretty sure my little flower princess will be holding a small bouquet.
I read before on weddingbee how people bought coloring books, activity books and picture books about being a flower girl. I'm thinking about doing all of that and possibly even giving her a cute teddy bear wearing a white dress. So she can have a toy to play, dance and hug during the wedding.
What are you ladies getting your flower girl? Are you having her throw petals or is she holding a bouquet?
please comment on weddingbee!

Aw! We decided to not have a flower girl since we didn't know anyone young enough and gave the older kids a special job like guestbook attendant etc. I really wanted a flower girl though, and if I did have one, I'd have her hold a bouquet b/c I've seen so many go back and pick up the petals or just dump the petals or some other thing along those lines. I love the coloring books and the story books for flower girls at theknot.com. That is an absolutely adorable dress!
I got the eggling idea from where else...weddingbee!
My niece is 3 and was the flowergirl for our friend's wedding, and she got a Strawberry Shortcake ( the colors for the wedding was pink and green, which matched with the doll) and she LOVED it, doesn't part with it. The bear idea is great, but it also depends on how old they are.
Why don't you ask her dad what her favorite character/toy of the moment is?
Me again.
I actually got my petticoat or cremoline thingy from David's bridal. I looked all over and DB was the cheapest even out of the smaller bridal shops, and I looked online, and it really wasn't that much cheaper. I think mine at DB ended up being $49 and I think they ended up giving me 20% off of that.
