My first attempt at working with our pictures and trying to capture a little video turned out just ok. I played around with it some more and after a couple days this is what I came up with. I used a program that comes free with any apple computer called iMovie. It's so simple, literally drag and drop, tweak and done!
So what do you think? Feel like you were at my wedding? Hope so!
I put together a little video of pictures from getting ready for the ceremony to the end of the ceremony. It's my first attempt at making a music video so bare with me. Hope everyone is having a great labor day and I'll make some more with pictures from the rest of the evening :) Photos are from our photographer, friends and family.
We finally know where we're going and I have to say that I'm very excited about it. We're heading over to Los Cabos, Mexico to a all inclusive resort. We don't have to worry about food, drinks (alcoholic or non), water activities and they gave us the honeymoon suite.. our room has a balcony facing two infinity pools which also face the ocean!!!!! Kind of like this view here:
Sorry for the picture overload. But as you can tell I am one excited little lady. We had a couple things we kept in mine while planning our honeymoon. We set a budget and wasn't going to budge from it unless it was seriously worth it. We also wanted to go somewhere that was highly rated not only by hotel star ratings but also our friends. And most importantly we wanted to get away to some place beautiful, where we can relax but also go shopping, to a spa, do sport type activities. A good friend of my went there not too long ago so we also have rave reviews from her and her boyfriend. They mentioned that you can go there and completely do nothing or you can go and take dance, archery, snorkle, scuba etc lessons, glass bottom boat rides, lovers beach and many other activites. That sounds like my sort of place. So I am really excited to say that we booked it through Apple Vacations. We looked around at a lot of other sites, travel agents but we've used AV before and we loved it. Plus it was the best deal we could find.
So ladies Mr. Poppy and I will be here for a week and I can't WAIT! I'll be sure to review it once we get back with lots of pictures. How is your honeymoon planning going?
I was talking to a friend of mine when he sent me over to a website of his friend who recently got married and I was instantly in love! Their wedding was like Cinderella.... quite beautiful. I noticed her videos most of all since they were quite beautiful and I asked her if she would like to share her most special day with our weddingbee readers. She was more than happy to share it with us! Congratulations Amy and Alex!
We had our wedding day filmed professionally not once, but TWICE!
Allow me to explain. Like everything else wedding related, we just
couldn't decide on one style of videography. Our videographer Patrick
of Still-Motion.ca specializes in a cinematic style, which I love and is the reason we
booked him in the first place. We really liked the idea of an
emotional retelling of our day. But there is something so irresistible
about Super 8mm (a topic covered once here before)! At the time we
booked, they did not offer Super 8mm coverage. But Patrick, never one to turn down a challenge, decided to do it for us. Two days
before the wedding, I called Patrick to finalize the wedding day
details and we got to talking about Super 8mm. It went something like
this:
Patrick: It says here you want the Super 8 coverage to be "home-movie" like. What does that mean exactly? Me: Um...I want it to be shakey, kinda amateurish looking.
Patrick: You want us to to shake the camera? Make it look like an amateur shot it? Me: ...uhhh...exactly, yes, that's what I want!
We love that we got to see our day filmed from two very
different perspectives!
Well Mr. Poppy and I were supposed to take our honeymoon in December to Thailand then stopping by Hong Kong for another Chinese banquet. But his work needs him and so we're taking a honeymoon during late October. We both decided that we'll do a formal Chinese banquet in Hong Kong next year and we'll just enjoy a honeymoon that isn't as far as Thailand.
So now we're debating about where to go. We've already been to Punta Cana and loved it but not sure if we want to go around that area again since normally in October the weather isn't too shabby. We looked at Barbados, Costa Rica and saw many all inclusive packages via Apple Vacations. We used them for our Dominican Republic trip and loved them. We're also debating about cruises that leave from NYC.
We don't have much time to plan this and we're even considering Hawaii. Do you know of any great vacationing/honeymooning spots? We could use all the advice we can get.
